Tax Relief on COVID-19 Donations

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb issued Executive Order 20-05 to provide tax incentives for COVID-19 donations.  The Executive Order allows manufacturers to make donations of medicine, medical supplies, or other eligible items to fight the COVID-19 pandemic in Indiana without incurring a use tax liability for those donations.  Additionally, groups and organizations making donations of medicine, medical supplies or other goods will not incur a use tax liability for those donations if sales tax was not paid when receiving the item.

Companies and organizations must get approval from the Indiana Department of Revenue to use the COVID-19 waiver.  To learn more about this waiver, please contact 260-969-2593.
